Health Impacts of Transport: a review
Motorway

This is the second in a series of health impact reviews which explore the links between identified areas and health. This review illustrates the links between transport and health. Specific attention is given to road traffic injuries, noise and air pollution and the effects of transport policy on physical activity and community interaction. It also considers the effect of transport initiatives on access and social inclusion.

The review has an extensive reference list. To supplement the health impacts of transport review a ‘sources of information’ list has been developed which highlights a number of organisations whose work considers issues relevant to the relationship between health and transport.
