How We Age Image Gallery

In April 2022, the Institute of Public Health (IPH) launched an all-island photography competition to reframe how older people are portrayed in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

This gallery of images is the culmination of that competition, which sought to capture the lived experiences of older people. IPH will use images in the How We Age gallery for use in its ongoing work to promote healthy ageing and broader public health themes. The images are also available to partner and allied organisations as a free-to-access image resource.

The gallery was launched in advance of International Day of Older Persons on 1 October and positive ageing month in October. Any queries about the How We Age gallery can be emailed to communications@publichealth.ie.

Image Use & Guidance: To use images please refer to guidance on usage rights for the How We Age Image Gallery – download guidance here.

Accessing Images – Please email communications@publichealth.ie to request images in high resolution, without watermark, for use in your own projects and resources.
