Using alcohol licensing data in public health research and policy - 30 November 2015
The North South Alcohol Policy Advisory Group hosted a knowledge exchange forum to share and discuss research using alcohol licence data. The forum included speakers from the UK and Ireland, with Professor David Fone (Cardiff University) presenting findings from the Welsh study examining change in alcohol outlet density and related harms over time. Dr Niamh Shortt (University of Edinburgh) outlined their approach to map alcohol outlets across Scotland and the associations with alcohol-related harm, behaviours and inequalities. Dr James Nicholls (Alcohol Research UK) discussed the use of licensing to protect public health.
