The Department of Health (NI) is seeking views on draft regulations which propose to restrict the age of sale for nicotine inhaling products to persons over the age of eighteen. This legislation will bring these products into line with other age-restricted products such as tobacco and alcohol. The draft regulations will create 2 new offences:
- that of selling nicotine inhaling products to a person under the age of 18; and
- the offence of purchasing a nicotine inhaling product on behalf of a minor.
The consultation closes at 5pm on 27 October 2017.
