IPH response to proposals for structure and time allocation in a revised primary curriculum
Teacher with young students

IPH policy team has responded to a consultation on the implementation of the revised primary school curriculum in the Republic of Ireland. The consultation explores issues such as minimum state curriculum time and flexible time allocations.

The IPH consultation response focuses on the importance of ensuring adequate time allocation for physical education and to enhancing opportunities for physical activity across the wider curriculum. We highlighted findings from our recent North South Physical Activity Report Card for Children. Last year, IPH submitted similar views on the post-primary sector relating to the health and wellbeing within the new Junior Cycle curriculum.
