IPH welcomes roll out of standardised packaging of tobacco across the island
From the first of October 2017, standardized packaging of tobacco will be rolled out in the Republic of Ireland. Packs can only be sold where they comply with rules set out in the Public Health (Standardised Packaging of Tobacco) Act 2015 including that the pack has no logos or branding and a neutral plain colour. There will be a ‘wash-out’ period as those packs issued before the first of October are sold.
